Istikhara: A Spiritual Path to Allah’s Closeness

Istikhara is a blessed means of drawing nearer to Allah (SWT). The one who performs Istikhara attains divine proximity and feels Allah's mercy in his heart. This connection deepens with each Istikhara - so profoundly that the believer's heart, vision, and entire being begin to radiate with divine light.

Remember: These blessings come from performing Istikhara yourself, not from asking others to do it for you. Those who claim to be Muslims yet ask others to perform Istikhara for them - why don't they establish this direct connection with Allah themselves? Do they consider themselves distant from their Lord? And if so, don't they desire this closeness?

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught the Sahabah the practice of Istikhara with great emphasis - so that every Muslim could adopt this Sunnah personally. This command applies to every member of the Ummah.

The Correct Method of Istikhara: The Prophet's ﷺ Guidance

Our beloved Prophet ﷺ gave complete instructions for Istikhara in his comprehensive teachings:

● For All Matters Big and Small:

Not just for marriage or major decisions, but a Sunnah for everyday intentions.

● Perform It Whether You're Uncertain or Not:

Pray: "O Allah! If there is good in this, decree it for me. If not, protect me from it."

● Offer Two Voluntary Rakahs:

Perform two non-obligatory rak'ahs (without any specific surah requirement).

● Recite the Istikhara Dua and Mention Your Need:

After salah, recite the special Istikhara dua and clearly state your request.
